As a former prosecutor and current criminal defense attorney, Attorney McTorry is well versed in the law and will follow the law to set appropriate bonds.

She will follow the factors set forth under the law to make common sense decisions about bonds in an effort to keep our community safe from violent repeat offenders without forsaking due process.
“Liberty and justice for all” shouldn’t just be a construct; it should be a reality for every person that walks into a criminal courtroom regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background. This starts by looking at each case in it’s totality and by considering the lives and stories of the people involved.

Not all have had the privilege of feeling protected by our criminal justice system and some have bore the brunt of it’s shortcomings and in-justices. All are and should be treated equally in the eyes of the law.
No one should ever feel as if they are not being seen or heard in the very venue created for parties to share their side of the story. Both victims of crimes and those accused of crimes will have a voice in the courtroom.

BUILDING TRUST
Transparency ensures accountability. This begins by cultivating a fair courtroom. We must also create an environment of transparency within our courtrooms. When appropriate, Attorney McTorry will live stream court proceedings so that the public can have a clear oversight into what is taking place in our courtrooms.

Within the bounds of the law, she will work with community partners to connect victims of crimes, those accused offenses involving mental illness and substance abuse with resources necessary to achieve a better future. As such, this makes room in our overcrowded jails and courtrooms to focus on high level felonies and violent cases.
