I'm running to keep our communities safe and our courtrooms fair. 

 

I will bring a fair and balanced perspective to the courtroom as the only candidate in my race that has practiced both as a Harris County prosecutor and as a Criminal Defense Attorney. As a judge I would be fair and impartial basing my decisions on the law and the facts in front of me.

 

I'm the most qualified candidate with the most case experience. As a prosecutor I have supervised attorneys and managed dockets with over 100 cases per day. Professionally I have handled thousands of felony cases in nearly every criminal court in Harris County. I have jury trial experience with cases at every level --from first degrees to misdemeanors. I am on the frontlines of Harris County Courtrooms Monday through Friday, fighting for justice, fairness, and equal application of the law. 

 

I'm no stranger to hard work. I have the work ethic necessary to clear the current backlog of cases in the 208th. My family rose from extreme poverty after a brief bought of homelessness during my childhood. I attended law school with a newborn and a toddler. I’m a first-generation college student, that worked two jobs to pay my way through school. I am a daughter of a hard-working union member, wife and mother of 3, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I have dedicated my life to service in hopes that my children can grow up in a world that is compassionate, fair and just.

 

Both my professional experiences and personal experiences have afforded me the work ethic, knowledge, passion, and resourcefulness necessary to get things done. I am looking forward to WORKING with and for the people of Harris County.
